RATING
0/5

Amber with golden hues and a faint green edge, this Port opens with pronounced aromas of toasted almond, hazelnut and dried fig, followed by caramel toffee, dark cocoa and light candied orange peel. On the palate it shows a velvet texture, full body, well-balanced acidity, with surprising freshness for a vintage like this. The tannins are soft yet structured, well-integrated into the ensemble, and the finish is long with persistent notes of honey, pecan nut, sweet tobacco and hints of aged oak. Serve ideally at 12-14 °C.

Product with History

Kopke, founded in 1638, is acknowledged as the oldest Port wine house. Located in the Douro region, its Colheita collection comprises wines from a single vintage, matured in wood for extended periods before bottling. For this 1967 vintage, the grapes were hand-harvested, vinified in lagares under controlled temperature until the target Baumé, then fortified and aged in wooden casks for decades. This expression reflects Kopke’s commitment to maintaining long-term ageing potential and capturing the essence of place and time.
