QUINTA DO SOQUE VINHAS VELHAS 2016 750 ML
With an intense ruby hue, this Douro old-vine red—made from ~85‑year‑old vines—reveals a complex nose of ripe black fruit, spiced undertones and well-integrated oak. The palate is robust and structured, with firm tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, persistent finish. At 14.5% ABV, it's a powerful wine that pairs beautifully with red meat, game dishes or aged cheeses.
Product with History
Quinta do Soque, covering around 20 hectares (17 planted), lies on the left bank of the Torto River in São João da Pesqueira, Douro. Owned by the Vicente family for over 20 years, the estate has undergone significant modernization, including winery renovations and vineyard management upgrades. Its “Vinhas Velhas” wine combines approximately 20 traditional Douro grape varieties from more than 85-year-old vines, producing very limited yields. The technical team 2PR, Pedro Sequeira and António Rosas leads production, ensuring the wines retain their authentic, powerful character.
