Quinta da Deserta lies in the heart of the Douro Demarcated Region, with vineyards rooted in schist soils between the Távora and Douro rivers. The region's harsh climate—hot, dry summers and cold, wet winters—yields low production but high-quality grapes. The producer and winemaker is Acácio Pinto Ribeiro.

Quinta da Boa Esperança Alicante Bouschet 2018 (750 ml) revela uma cor granada intensa, quase opaca, com nuances violetas. No nariz, surgem notas dominantes de fruta preta madura (ameixa, amora), envoltas por nuances balsâmicas, especiadas e ligeiramente fumadas, com fino toque de carvalho francês após estágio de 24 meses. No paladar mostra-se volumoso e vibrante, corpo estruturado, taninos firmes mas elegantes, acidez equilibrada e final persistente, ideal para longo envelhecimento (+10 anos).
