Also known as Rufete, Tinta Pinheira is a variety with a long history in Dão.

It is a mature red, with a silky texture, but with good nerve and a very pleasant, very vinous flavor, reminiscent of the good smell of the mills during the harvest.

The Adega Cooperativa de Penalva do Castelo today has around 1000 members, annually receives grapes from more than 1200 hectares of vineyards, produces an average of seven million liters of wine, has the most modern winemaking, aging and bottling technology, being an unavoidable reference for Dão wines.
